Davenport Headlands offer spectacular ocean views.The beach is white sand (clamber down sandy cliff path, often deserted with a miles-from-anywhere feel). The environs of Davenport include open expanses of land and beautiful redwood forests. This part of the coast is also very popular with kite surfers; the offshore waters are often filled with sports enthusiasts. Reds, oranges and yellows from the sails of extreme athletes who enjoy a thrill of bouncing up and down on the Pacific Ocean waves can be seen for miles along the coastline here. (Who needs wedding decorations with all of this color?)
This beach is surrounded by high bluffs and cliff trails. One of our favorite elopement locations is between these two trees--located high above the beach--which offer breathtaking vistas of the Pacific. We'll more than likely have this romantic spot all to ourselves, yet you'll feel like king and queen of the world as you proclaim your love in full view of the Pacific's majesty.
